Today we were joined by Kohila and Simon K, making our seven delegation team complete. The day started with a meeting with VAVA- the The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange (Dioxin). This was followed to a visit to the Friendship Village. We were met by the Director Dang Vu Dung - a Vietnam Veteram fighter. Here we visited victims of Agent Orange. 4 generations of the deadly chemical continue to effect the community. Then we visited the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), the role Trade Union movement in Vietnam. We weremet by Hoang Ngoc Thanh- the Vice President of VGCL. The Union has 7 million members and as many as 100,000 trade union. Finally we ended the day with a very meaningful discussion with actionaid Vietnam. We were met by Comrade Hoang - the country Director and Nguyen Tat Quan the program manager. signing off Arul, 15 april 2011 10pm.
