Forum "Red shirts n the struggle for democracy in thailand",today 23 june(wed) 8 pm, kl sel chinese assembly hall. Speaker: vipar daoman ...
Thailand has been dragged into a deep on-going crisis since 2006 when the military staged a coup against a civilian government. In the recent episode of Thai political struggle, we have witnessed the rise of pro-democracy Red Shirt, the largest pro-democracy movement in the history of Thailand which turned the fight into a class war against political elite of Bangkok establishement. The pro-democracy Red-Shirts movement was brut...ally suppressed by the un-elected Ahbisit's government. Where will the Red-Shirts go from here? What is the future for the struggle for Democracy in Thailand?
